ASC PRE-ASSESSMENT
An ASC pre-assessment is an optional confidential preliminary review to inform conformity against the relevant ASC Standard and identify possible improvements. A pre-assessment will identify the farm's strengths and weaknesses, informing areas for improvement and the likelihood of meeting the ASC Standard in full assessment.
If the pre-assessment suggests the farm is a good candidate to meet the ASC Standard, the client can decide to move into the public full assessment process. If the pre-assessment reveals that the farm does not yet meet the standard, improvements can be undertaken before the commencement of a full assessment. Where the pre-assessment reveals that very significant improvement is required, the pre-assessment can become a good foundation for Aquaculture Improvement Project.
There is no requirement for the pre-assessment report to be made public unless you choose to do so as part of an Aquaculture Improvement Project.
