ASC AQUACULTURE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT: PRE-ASSESSMENT
For a farm that does not yet meet the ASC Standard, an Aquaculture Improvement Project pre-assessment is the first step within the Aquaculture Improvement Project process. An assessment is conducted to identify gaps and areas that require improvement. A confidential report is prepared, the results of which provide an opportunity to make improvements in an effort to achieve ongoing responsible practices.
The ASC requires the pre-assessment to be conducted by an ASC accredited Conformity Assessment Body or a qualified ASC technical consultant. If the pre-assessment is not conducted by one of these entities, a qualified Conformity Assessment Body is required to review the pre-assessment.
As a qualified Conformity Assessment Body working with the ASC Standard daily bio.inspecta can provide a comprehensive Aquaculture Improvement Project pre-assessment and can also review a pre-assessment developed by an alternative technical consultant.
